Special-Interest Houses

Beloit offers student clubs and organizations the chance to obtain group housing. Depending on the size of the club and the location, group housing can accommodate five to 20 people. Getting a room in a special interest house is governed by the special interest group that manages the housing, so any requests are passed on to the campus club/organization in question. First term, first-year students are not eligible to live in the special interest houses.

The Women's Center
The Women’s Center is located at 732 Church Street. The cooperative center seeks to raise awareness of women's issues on the campus and also serves as a support group for Beloit College Women.
The French House
The French House is a coeducational, Tudor-style house of 20 students. The French House is aligned with the Modern Languages Department and serves as the base of the French Seminar in Rennes, France, and for the Alliance Francaise, the French Club. A kitchen, dining room, living room, TV lounge, and a fireplace are located on the first floor of the house.
The Spanish House
The Spanish House a coed house. Like the French House, the Spanish House is aligned with the Modern Languages Department, and members are selected by a committee of faculty and students. The Spanish Club, Casa Espanol, and Voces Latinas is an integral part of the house. Students going on the Ecuador seminar usually reside in the house.
Russian House
Located at 717 Emerson Street, is a coed house of six. Like the French and Spanish Houses, Russian House is aligned with the Modern Languages Department and members are selected by a committee of faculty and students.
Outdoor Environment House (OEC)
Located at 722 Clary Street, it is a coed house of nine students. OEC students seek to raise campus awareness of environmental issues. This serves as home base for the Outdoor Environment Club.
Alliance House
Located at 818 Church Street, the Alliance House is a coed house of 12 that supports GLBT students and allies. The Alliance strives to raise awareness of GLBT issues on campus.
Music House
Located at 716 Emerson Street, the music house is a coed house of five students supported by the music department. It strives to educate the campus about music.
Anthropology House
The anthropology house is located at 804 Church Street and is a coed house of 5 students.  It is supported by the Anthropology Department and strives to educate the campus about anthropological issues.
Voces Latinos House
Located at 721 Emerson Street, Voces is a co-ed house of four students. This home serves as the home base for the Voces Latinos Student Group.
Art House
The art house is located at 742 Church Street. Often adorned with elaborate images and decorations, the art house is home to students who interested in a wide range of mediums.
Interfaith House
The interfaith house is located at 842 Church Street.  It houses five students and is usually comprised of students from a wide variety of spiritual and religious backgrounds.
Substance Free House
This house is new as of the fall of 2008. It is located in Wood Hall and comprised of students committed to furthering substance free programming and ideals.
Habitat for Humanity
The Habitat for Humanity house, located at 842 Park Avenue, is comprised of students committed to giving a hand-up to a local family and improving the city of Beloit. Their first main project consisted of raising $60,000 and building a house.
German House:
The German house is located in Wood Tower B. Those interested in speaking German and learning more about the culture and society are invited to apply to live in the house. Both native German speakers and those learning it as a second language live in the house.
BSU
Black Students United is housed in Wood Tower C.  The group serves as a support group for students of color and educates about Black issues.  The house is comprised of students from a variety of backgrounds, races, and ethnicities.
Peace and Justice
Located at 905 Church Street, the Peace and Justice house is comprised of 10 students who are committed to raising awareness and actively programming on issues surrounding peace and conflict.
BSFFA
BSFFA, or Beloit Science Fiction and Fantasy Association, is located in Wood Tower D.  They offer a wide range of activities, including movie marathons, gaming, and traditional role-playing.
